September 2019 – Wonder WHY you feel a bit off?
“If you will let your standard of success be your achievement of joy everything else will fall into place” – Abraham-Hicks
As I write this email we are having a bit of a downpour! It is great for greening up this desert place we live in!
We have had beautiful weather in the low 30’s Celsius for the last few weeks. We have enjoyed it, but usually we have temps in the high 30’s and low to mid 40’s from the middle of July to the middle of August.
I am so pleased that we got all the weeding done (a.k.a. sun tanning) in the Green Stevia patch yesterday!
FYI~ We are always here if you have a question. Please feel free to send us an email.
Thanks for sharing part of your day with us!!
Thanks for all the positive feed back on my Pesto To Add Zesto Recipe from last month!
Wonder WHY you feel a bit off?
I wanted to remind folks that at this time of the year,
mid to late summer,
there are a few tasty plant products
that are extremely acid-forming
and they may be throwing you off your alkaline game.
The number one culprit,
starting at the beginning of August is
Blueberries!
I hear you going, “Whaaaaaaaat? Blueberries???
I thought they were so good for you?”
Of course they have benefits
simply because they are fresh fruit and in season.
The thing is it seems most of you are like me
and you love the taste of these little gems…
that means you don’t just eat A FEW…..
You are like me and could probably
polish off a 5lb. box in one sitting!
Either that or you are adding them to everything!!
So enjoy a handful now and again,
but anything we do consistently tends to add up on us.
I hope you have more restraint than me.
I used to buy 500 lbs. per season,
and then wondered why I felt so bad
(too much acid residue left for my system to deal with).
Since I am black or white when it comes to food,
I just quit buying them and enjoy a few here and there
when they appear in something that someone else has made.
The next one is Plums!
I have so many fond childhood memories of raiding
my Great-Grandfather’s Prune Plum trees!
I would even eat them when they were green!
Once again, show restraint when it comes to Plums.
Your digestive system will thank you for it.
As they metabolize they create an acidic residue
that puts a burden on your overall system.
The next one can be found year round,
but in our part of the world
fresh Spinach shows up everywhere in the summer.
Many folks think they are making a delightfully healthy
summer salad using Spinach.
It’s light refreshing taste is misleading.
The acidic residue it leaves can cause turmoil
in your digestive tract and ultimately your entire system!
So ENJOY the abundance of fresh in season produce,
just remember that if you have been feeling a bit off,
one of these 3 may be the cause.
Having any or all of them once in a while is fine,
but even though you don’t count the accumulation
of acids in your body,
IT DOES!!
You can lie to you, but not to your body…it knows better!
Remember to take some extra of our amazing Alfalfa
which is loaded with real minerals,
to help your body get rid of that nasty acid residue.
Plus remember, It’s EASY, to get alkaline!!
